Anything good about Microsoft buying Yahoo?

Most people view this development with misgivings. Me too but I think this will curtail the market power of google which may be a good thing.

What do you think?

Yeah, when both microsoft and yahoo combined together, that will provide a chance for them to challenge google dominance, much better if they would have acted alone.

Maybe. But i believe not many people love that. So far, its stll fine if have 3 giant at net compete each other. But if only 2 giant. Its not fun anymore..

I guess it is better for the consumer when there are 2 giants in the marketplace instead of one giant and one dwarfs. Consumer will still be better off even if the 2 giants are evil

MS and Yahoo is a very powerful combination. It will give a tough competition to Google. And, when these start their battle for supremacy, then we can get a lot of benefits from both of them! Because, if they want to become the better site, then they MUST please the surfers! All the money in the world cannot assure either any long-term success, only the people who surf on the internet can give them success.

You are right spot on this one. Competition will ultimately benefit consumers with better products a cheaper prices. And perhaps Microsoft can give Yahoo a new lease of life

I will definately wait for the new collaboration of MSN and Yahoo messenger. Maybe they will add some interesting features. I hope it will make Google reduce the arrogancy

So, you another person who interested MSN and Yahoo combine? HOho. If microsoft serious, just buy any price that Yahoo want. That will more easier.

I think Microsoft is more interested in buying the whole Yahoo brand and its wide customer base of users; this will allow them to ramp up competition with Google.

Yap. Its nice strategy from Microsoft. But bad and worse situation for Yahoo right now. I wonder what Yahoo will do that. Its they want to wait for more money or just decline it officially?
