Default Yahoo still talking to Microsoft

Yahoo now unveiled the new advertising partners ranging from Wal-Mart Stores Inc to CBS Corp.

It also seems that Yahoo is facing peer pressure from billionaire investor Carl Icahn and other shareholders over its failed talks for a $47.5 billion buyout from Microsoft.

And again the also say that some form of deal with Microsoft could still come about.

Just cant think whats up with Yahoo. Its like they are all confused and running in all directions without and aim nor any intensions.

What do you feel over this now??

I think there has been disagreement among their own board members. There has been faction, one supporting the deal and another against it. Inner fighting I guess but clearly their official stand is not final and still open for possibilities.

I guess the most important Yahoo holdout is Jerrry Yang and he must convinced that he can deliver better than Microsoft's offer price.

The saga continues with the revealation that Jerry Yang had pushed for an employee severance program that would make it more expensive for Microsoft to engineer a takeover even though an outside consultant questioned the plan's generous benefits.

Kind of a classic poison pill defense!

The saga continues with yet another Yahoo's rebuff of Microsoft. I am getting quite sick of this soap opera!

In a compromise, Yahoo's board will expand to 11 members, but only 8 of the current board will stay on .The expansion will occur after the shareholder meeting on 1 Aug 08.

Carl Icahn will become a board member plus another 2 selected by him.

It seems that Microsoft have completely given up the bid for Yahoo or is it?
