Default Yahoo Mail from a friend accidentally sent to Bulk folder

I recently received an email from a friend sent directly to my bulk folder although the guy used to send me mails without problem in the past. I don't know what could have caused that but I believe it could be because I've never added him to my address book. It's just so strange on how Yahoo! Mail defines spam mail. If there is a frequent exchange of email between two regular person wouldn't that automatically makes the mail to be regarded as "not spam"?

Ha ha! Thats quiet commen. Does happen to me to couple of times. It usually checks if the name or email id is present in the address book and if not the mails lend in spam or bulk folder.

I think most of the mails do it this way. But some do store or save the mail ID if there is repeated correspondance or you reply or sent a mail.

You can see it and filter it if you want. Its easy to do that or you make one private folder just for your friends. Its will help and solve your problem. Or jusk mark it as not spam. So, it will come back to your inbox.

Yes, having a proper email being dumped into the spam folder is fairly common. No spam filter is perfect. Even Gmail's spam filter makes mistakes once in a while so you just need to make sure that you check your spam folder often to avoid missing any important emails.

I just hope Yahoo will look into this issue seriously. Sometimes it could mean important mail information getting deleted permanently if you didn't check your spam folder for a long time. I just hope it will improve in time to come

I don't think so. You can email yahoo for that. They cannot do anything about that spam mail. You need to check it first before you delete any mail. I always check it even at spam folder or others folder. Like you said, important think. You must alert about that.

On the part of the provider, I think they should do whatever possible to improve on their service. Although we do not pay to use the account, I believe it will help if Yahoo can work something on it. If we at look and it and give a thought about it, it could be serious since some important mail might get unnoticed and then deleted.

The only way which I can think of to overcome the problem is to switch to gmail. I think if everyone is doing that and then leave some bad reviews in other websites saying that mails get sent to bulk folder, I think Yahoo will then be serious about it.

I rather think that Yahoo should look into this. Spam has always been an issue with Yahoo.

I ometimes also get mails which never belonged to me but did have a similar name or something like that. But with google the spam issue is just about 1% or may be less than that.

So if Yahoo does not look upon that now the i dont think any one would be preffering to use it in future.

You are right to some extent in case of Gmail as we don't face to many problems in this regard with gmail service..but they do exist with gmail too buddy.Yahoo and Hotmail servers use certain content filtering services and any forwarded message can be considered spam by them, like, if you send a common message to 10 or more friends, most of the times they will be getting it in their bulk folder..Same is true for automated messages too.Thats why,I use yahoomail for personal purposes only and not for the sites where I join as an affiliate or member, otherwise it would be too much of bulk everyday in my yahoo account
