Default Microsoft likely to raise Yahoo offer

Have you guys read? Seems like the latest news reported that Microsoft is going to raise the Yahoo bid in order to secure the company. These are the highlights of the news release.

Quote:
Microsoft Corp will raise its $31-per-share offer for Yahoo Inc and upgraded Yahoo shares to "buy" from "hold." The brokerage also raised its price target on Yahoo's stock to $34 from $31, saying it believed Microsoft remained committed to its offer and "is capable of and willing to" increase that bid to conclude the deal.
Looks like the deal is not yet off

I think the offer will go up to $40 a share; Yahoo is playing hard to get and many industry people are also trying to scuttle the deal.

Uh...I don't think they will just jump to that offer. It's what they call business deal. Getting the lowest and best bargain and playing the slow approach. I guess that's what microsoft is doing rite now.

There would definitely be a lot of change going on if the deal goes through. But I don't think it will be anytime soon. Somehow I feel it can still drag on and I believe Yahoo has been very reluctant on the takeover deal.

Of course changes needed. So far, many thing need to do. We still cannot imagine what will happen if they really merged. So far, i pray they never go to combine together.

How about their website? They will combine also? I don't want microsoft to change yahoo red to their blue design. I hope this can still be same.

Definitely one of the impact will be how the Yahoo site will be affected and revamped if the buy-out is successful. Microsoft will keep Yahoo as a separate subsidiary if they know the value of Yahoo's branding and wide customer base.

Looks like the takeover deadline that Microsoft given to Yahoo is going to end soon. I wonder what will happen next. They even said that if Yahoo don't accept the deal it's going to be forced or hostile takeover actions. Wow..

I think it will be a hostile takeover attempt; both Yahoo and Microsoft 1st quarter results are impressive - means that Yahoo cannot fend off Microsoft successfully but also that the value offered to Yahoo had declined due to drop in Microsoft share price.

Sit tight!
