Boss from Yahoo

Yahoo has introduced a new web developer tool , "Boss" allowing you to build your own search service. The free tool will allow developers to build customized search services based on Yahoo technology. This is expected to pave the way for new entrants and potential competitors to Google.

It sounds like linux where the code would be available to all developers, sound pretty exciting, one would be able to have a customized search service depending upon the needs of the visitors on that site. We need to break out of the google shackle and have more freedom to search the way we want to. Yahoo is cool once again

Hopefully this will make Yahoo a viable competitor to Google again ; it is really quite frightening to see Google being involved in practically every field.
