Is it true that Google is going to buy Digg?

I'm not sure whether this is pure rumors or what but it seems like Techcrunch just released news that Google is going to acquire Digg soon.

"The two companies have reportedly signed a letter of intent and are close to a deal that will bring Digg under the Google News property. The acquisition price is in the $200 million range, says one source."

By the way I see it, the current progress in which google just gobbles up everything in its way doesn't look that healthy. They will definitely use digg to suppress other social bookmarks and in the end only digg is king.

Yes, I too beleive that Google is expanding too fast into too many fields- hopefully some form of anti-trust actions will rein the ambitious company in a little bit.
