Rumors about Google having their own operating system

According to the source, the are signs and speculation pointing to google going undercover before launching their new OS....True? You guys should read it.

You can browse different covers of a magazine or dive into a specific issue and turn the scanned pages, which come complete with all of the old advertisements. You can search within an issue. You can zoom in and zoom out fairly quickly. There is also a subscribe link. And when you look at the page with the covers, a Google Map shows all the places mentioned in various issues, with links to the pages where those places are mentioned.

Launching an OS is probably a step in the wrong direction as the current dogma is the network is the computer rather than the other way round. Perhaps Google is going in the same direction as Microsoft.

Not sure what you are trying to post over there mate.. It's about OS not about magazine.

And as usual, the direction whereby google is heading is to control every possible market niche related to computers.

If Google intends to control the market through the OS, it will be competing headon with Micorsoft and I don't think it is a smart move as Microsoft probably has the strongest competitive advantage in OS.

Well if google do decide on releasing they would be stupid to charge for it as Im not being funny, no one would want to buy it outright if they have a good OS already (XP / Vista / OpenSUSE / Red hat / Centos etc).

But we will just have to wait and see really

I think search engine and OS are two totally different entities. Basically they are venturing in as pure newbies goings against the likes of giants like Microsoft and Mac.

Search engines and OS can be seen as two diamatrically approaches to dominate the IT world. Search engines operates on the premise that the network is the computer (Google's current approach) whiile OS operates on the premise that the starting point is the computer (Microsoft's current approach that is making tonnes of dole).
