Knol - Google's Wikipedia?

Just check out the news above. Seems that Google is also developing their own style of wikipedia known as knol. It allows users to put their names and Google ads on their knol pages and split the revenue with the search company. Still in development though..

When I read, I say google like to copy things. I don't like to see advertisement, everywhere I go. I prefer wikipedia better.

Seems like you guys really hate Google. I don't know why but they have not done anything wrong to me or ban my account for no reason

Anyway, I do agree that it's stealing someone's else idea.

I think I speak for myself when I say Im a hypocrit, I hate google yet I use it all the time for everything. They have screwed me over one to many times and now they are trying to muscle in on wikipedia etc. Kinda makes me sick

I don't against google but I feel they should come up with new original. I always enjoy when there's new introduction, because we have new things to try. But wikipedia is already there so google should find their own fresh idea.

I'm confuse whether this means that Google always come up with a new idea to expand, or they just steal another website idea to get more money. And I guess it need a long time to be develop

Yeah, one thing which I constantly have problem is the webmasters tools which until today is still very inconsistent. Sitemap problem and external links disappering
Even their latest voting system still haven't take off yet. I guess a lot of unfinished business in google at the moment

They have started growing more and more lately, but the problem is they are growing to quickly which is hindering their projects. Maybe they should slow down and also think of original ideas

Yeah, same with the case with Microsoft. When they start to get big, it's beginning to get hard to coordinate so many projects. Hopefully google don't become like Microsoft some day.

You just know they will, Google has taken over the internet in a sense, they are the biggest thing around and they dont mind pushing people around and punishing them for little things.

The old internet giants (microsoft etc) have started to treat users nicer and allow more "mistakes" lol

Thats seems new to me about that Knol. Its really good to use it or anyone already have try this wikipedia?

I just wonder what it will be like after they started the thing. Hmmm...did you read, there an advertisement which you can place on the site and a chance for you to earn extra more. Let's see how it goes.
