How do you gain Page Rank vs Alexa Rank?

Is it Page Rank is how important Google thinks you are? i.e. How many links you have out there? And what determines Alexa Rank? Every time mine goes up 75,000 spots I am very excited LOL Thanks

IF Page rank, you need to have better SEO. But if alexa rank, you need to have good traffic to your site.

You have to remember Alexa rank is constant, you need to keep the numbers high or you will slip alot, I kinda gave up on SEO and pushing for traffic for now and I slipped 40,000 places in Alexa, whereas google is over a certain amount of time between updates

It actually doesn't count by just how many links you have. You could have a thousand unrelated low PR link but 1 single DMOZ directory link can match all that.
