Friend Connect by Google

Google is set to join the social networking scene with introduction of Friend Connect. It will be a set of "APIs for Open Social participation to pull profile information from social networks into third party websites."

And again, just buying into other peoples ideas and sites..... Google should stick to SE not branch out as it will just spread the teams too thin

I guess Google's view social networking sites as complementary to search engines; the fact is that all this ultimately contribute to the giant ad machine

They have to come up with something really special for people to accept it. There are so many social networking sites around these days and I would rather go for myspace.

One thing unique about Google's Friend's connect is that you will be able to profiles and preferences across other websites rather than within.
