Is Alexa as important as PR?

Alexa measures the amount of traffic to your site but does it mean it is a important as PR? PR usually count toward your page popularity and backlink and a PR drop will affect website revenue especially on those involved in link selling. However, I'm not sure how high Alexa ranking with high number of visitor can affect on web revenue. Anybody has something to share on this topic?

i never knew about alexa before , but many sites that pay u for blogging ie writing posts and all, check your alexa rank, and ur technorati ranks as well at times, so i gues these are very important

Alexa ranking would be really important but it's also easy to hack. For example, i think you all know proxy websites. There are thousands of proxies around the world and you can login from each one to your website. Like that, you will hack alexa rank generating new visitors.

There are many websites in top 10,000 that don't have anything to do there. Alexa is not important, PR isn't either, the most important thing is how much you're earning each day from your websites and quality backlinks that you have.

For me PR sounds to be much more important. Once you have a good PR automaticlly youll be getting good traffic and increasing your alexa. But this does not work viceversa like incase if you have a good alexa it does not mean youll hav a good PR too. May work but not much.

Google i think counts for link popularity,backlinks,contents,keywords and many more things.

I would think alexa ranking aint that important and it is not that accurate. It takes some time to figure out the correct data of traffic. I use other tools to find out about traffic Question about importance, IMHO PR would be more important that ALEXA.

Well if you are obsessed with stats alexa could gave you an idea of the traffic you do get. Much accurate that the website i think. Pr don't measure the traffic just the link popularity.
