Perhaps I am wrong or perhaps hotmail changed something but I remember when I signed up years ago they posted it to my right away, as I was signing up I was told that I had to log in every six months. It is an inconvenience especially when others do not follow the same protocol but each business sets things up as they see fit. If hotmail shuts you out too fast then you should use another free service that suits you better and forget about hotmail. Sorry that you lost something that was valuable to you. All that can happen now is that we move forward.
