Some may not think this is fair for hotmail to do this but let's take a moment to look at it from thier side - Hotmail has to pay for the space it uses on the internet - they are paying someone - somewhere. They offer us this free hotmail account but in actuality - someone is paying for it - either hotmail themselves or the advertisers. So hotmail gives away these free accounts so everyone signs up - takes up space and then never comes back. Hotmail or someone is paying for wasted space. So to fix this problem - hotmail just says you must log in to your account once every 6 months - just log in - you don't have to use it - don't have to send an email to hotmail saying you are there or anything else. Just go somewhere - log in to your account and log off and you are good to go for another 6 months. There is internet service ALMOST everywhere in the world - even if you have to go to a public place to use the computer there - you can log into hotmail from ANY computer that has internet access anywhere. You can even call your mom and have her log in for you.... there are many ways to make sure your accounts do not get deleted. Remember - we are getting this for free - it is a small price to pay to be asked to log in once in a while.
